Men’s 7^th captain's report 2011

6B proved a division too high for the Mighty 7ths this year and we crashed out with one win.

Defeats included three 8-1 drubbings from vastly superior sides who played their elite forces against our regular conscripts. We came close against Bishops Stortford 4, losing a last gasp tie break, and at least managed to chalk up one point by winning a last gasp tie break against Salisbury 3. Many thanks to our battling 17: Gururj Bilur, Nicholas Peckham, Mike Busby, Colin Fassnidge, Martin Peckham, Derek Mackay, Paul Gilmartin, Mike Walker, Alvin Woolley, Steve Bramall, Gary Billingham, Mark Clegg, Sean O’Reilly, Joaquin Orejas, Roscoe Boyes, Bruce Smith and Rob Barnes. Assuming we’re all no wiser, we’ll be aiming for that promotion spot again in 2012.
