Having just been elected, I wanted to introduce myself to all members. I have been a member at Townsend for over 20 years and have enjoyed my time at the club meeting many new friends and acquaintances. My son also now plays at the club. I am very pleased to be joining a thriving and experienced committee and look forward to working to continue to make improvements to our successful club.
The club has been going from strength to strength over the last few years so we want to keep the momentum going and keep our membership strong and healthy. I am hoping that 2012 will be bringing us new lights and re-surfaced courts on the middle three as soon as planning permission is granted. This will give us much better facilities to attract new members. I know that the Board is also working on changes and improvements within the club so we should be looking to a very bright future.
If you have any thoughts on how we can improve things at the club, please contact me or any one of the committee through the website as we would be very pleased to hear from you.
I would like to thank Jenny, Lyndsey and the team for organising a very nice and sociable Christmas evening at the club recently. It was well attended and enjoyed by everyone. Well done. I hope that we will have a few more social events lined up for 2012.
I would like to wish you all a very good Christmas and some excellent tennis in the New Year.
