The old and the young gathered together on a beautiful sunny Sunday morning for a Tournament partnering adults with their children. The juniors applied sun cream and chatted about the World Cup Final; the seniors strapped on supports and compared injuries, and meanwhile, Matt Organised everyone onto the courts and the competition began.
Everyone played either 4 or 5 ten minute championship tie-break form and after a couple of hours 4 semi-finalists emerged. The Websters (Lucy and Alice) played the Darbys (Roy and Chris) and the Gilmartins (Paul and Danielle) played the Walkers (Stuart and Alisdair). The Darbys and the Walkers progressed to the final, which turned out to be a hard fought and very close match.
Congratulations to Stuart and Alisdair who triumphed 10-8, and stepped up to receive their prestigious new trophy.
Thanks go to Matt for organising all the matches, to Bill (the burgers and hot dogs hit the spot), to Russ who umpired the final and to everyone who took part for making the morning so enjoyable.
Well Played to all the Juniors who took part (the youngest was only 10) - you all did your partners proud. It was nice to see you all, to see you all ..........nice.....and see you all again next year.
