In an effort to improve the enjoyment of members on Club Nights, Sally Griffiths, Julian See and myself (Mike Busby) met to look at ways the format could be improved.

As a result, we have asked club coach Matt Foster to co-ordinate the play and ensure that each member gets the best possible matches with players of a similar ability.

Although the format of these evenings is being run on a trial basis and may change as required, the plan is as follows:

  • Play before 7.15pm is free format as before.  You mix in with whoever is there.
  • At 7.15pm, Matt will put players into groups of four and you will play for just around 25 minutes.
  • At the end of each 25 minute period (regardless of where you are in the match) all players will come off and Matt will everybody into new groups.
  • This process will repeat for 3 playing sessions in total.

After these 3 organised sessions, members can continue playing on if they wish, and can organise their own groups.

We ask you to bear with us on this new format.  It is a pilot to run from Tuesday 20th April until the Whitsun half term, and we will review this as it progresses.
